A single dark grey band runs the length of the duvet cover on a 300 thread count, 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton sateen base. Dark grey sits between navy and mid-grey in the Cottsbury single band range: it produces a strong, high-contrast accent without the warmth of navy's blue undertone, reading as a cleaner, more neutral graphic stripe. The dark grey dye uses GOTS-approved colorants. Closure is concealed coconut shell buttons - no plastic, no metal.

The Cottsbury single band range comes in three colourways: Dark Grey, Navy, and Taupe. All use the same 300 thread count sateen base and coconut shell button closure. Dark grey produces a high-contrast, cool-toned stripe with no colour bias - the most versatile of the three for contemporary and minimalist bedrooms. Navy has a similar contrast level but with a blue undertone, skewing more traditional or coastal. Taupe is the lowest-contrast option, reading as a warm neutral rather than a graphic accent.
Two differences: shade and band count. The Dark Grey Single Band is a deeper, charcoal-leaning tone with one stripe; the Grey Twin Band uses a lighter, mid-grey in two parallel stripes. Single band dark grey reads as a stronger accent; grey twin band is softer and more structured in its repeat. If you want the contrast to be the focal point, dark grey single is the bolder choice.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the leading international certification for organic textiles. It requires the cotton to be grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers and verifies that every processing stage - including dyeing - meets strict chemical and labour standards. For dark grey specifically, GOTS prohibits azo dyes capable of releasing carcinogenic aromatic amines and heavy metal-based pigments, both commonly used in conventional dark grey dyeing.
Yes. The 300 thread count sateen weave produces a smooth, low-friction surface, and GOTS certification ensures no harmful chemical residues from processing or dyeing. For people with documented sensitivities specifically to textile dyes, the undyed White Classic or Natural Classic sets are the more cautious option.
Cottsbury duvet covers are sized to standard UK dimensions. A Single cover (135 × 200 cm) fits a standard 10.5 tog single duvet. The King (230 × 220 cm) fits a standard UK king duvet without overhang. If you have a deep-fill or oversized duvet, size up.
