A single navy band runs the length of the duvet cover on a 300 thread count, 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton sateen base. Single band is the most restrained contrast option in the Cottsbury banded range - one clean line of navy against white. Compared to the Navy Twin Band (two parallel stripes), the single band delivers a sharper, more graphic accent with less visual weight overall. The navy dye uses GOTS-approved colorants. Closure is concealed coconut shell buttons - no plastic, no metal.

Single band has one navy stripe running across the duvet cover; twin band has two parallel stripes. The single band is the more graphic option - the higher contrast of navy against white means one stripe reads more distinctly than two taupe stripes would. Twin band adds more presence and a slightly more structured look. Both use the same 300 thread count sateen base and coconut shell button closure.
All three single band sets are identical in construction - 300 thread count GOTS Certified organic cotton sateen, same dimensions, same buttons. The difference is contrast level and colour temperature. Navy produces the sharpest, most graphic contrast against the white ground. Dark Grey is similarly high contrast but cooler and more neutral. Taupe is the softest contrast - a warmer neutral that reads more tonal than bold. Navy suits traditional, coastal, and contemporary schemes; taupe suits warmer, earthy interiors; dark grey suits cooler, minimal rooms.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the leading international certification for organic textiles. It requires the cotton to be grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, and verifies that every processing stage - including dyeing - meets strict chemical standards. For navy specifically, GOTS prohibits synthetic azo dyes capable of releasing carcinogenic aromatic amines and heavy metal-based pigments, both of which are common in conventional navy dyeing processes.
Yes. The 300 thread count sateen weave produces a smooth, low-friction surface, and GOTS certification ensures no harmful chemical residues from processing or dyeing. For people with documented sensitivities specifically to textile dyes, the undyed White Classic or Natural Classic sets are the more cautious option.
Cottsbury duvet covers are sized to standard UK dimensions. A Single cover (135 × 200 cm) fits a standard 10.5 tog single duvet. The King (230 × 220 cm) fits a standard UK king duvet without overhang. If you have a deep-fill or oversized duvet, size up.
