A solid Warm Taupe bedding set on a 300 thread count, 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton sateen base. Warm Taupe sits at the warmer end of the neutral spectrum - a greige-adjacent tone with a brown undertone that keeps it from reading as cool grey. It is the most warmly neutral of the solid colourways in the Cottsbury Classic range, and the most versatile for use with natural materials: raw wood, linen, terracotta, wicker, and stone all sit naturally alongside it. On a sateen weave, the colour carries a gentle surface sheen that adds depth without making it feel glossy. Closure is concealed coconut shell buttons - no plastic, no metal.

Warm Taupe is a mid-toned greige - the word greige is a blend of grey and beige, which describes it precisely. It has a visible brown undertone that keeps it on the warm side of neutral, distinguishing it from cool greys and from the undyed ecru warmth of the Natural Classic colourway. In natural daylight it reads as a definite, settled warm neutral; under warm artificial light it deepens slightly. On sateen, the sheen brings out its warmth more than a flat matte weave would.
Both are warm, earthy tones - but they arrive at warmth differently. Natural is the undyed, unbleached colour of raw organic cotton fibre: a slightly irregular ecru with no dye chemistry involved. Warm Taupe is a dyed colourway that produces a more deliberately mid-toned, settled greige with a clear brown-grey mix. Natural reads organic and slightly varied; Warm Taupe reads as a considered, intentional colour choice. Natural is chemically minimal (no dye); Warm Taupe uses GOTS-certified dyes that meet strict toxicological standards.
The Cottsbury Classic range covers several neutrals across both warm and cool tones. White is a cool optical white. Natural is an undyed warm ecru. Light Grey is a cool, pale grey. Dark Slate is a deep cool charcoal. Warm Taupe is the only warm, mid-toned dyed neutral - the one that bridges the gap between the undyed Natural and the cooler greys. For rooms where warmth is the priority and a plain Natural feels too light or too undone, Warm Taupe occupies the natural next step.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the leading international certification for organic textiles. It requires the cotton to be grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers and verifies that every processing stage - including dyeing - meets strict chemical and labour standards. GOTS prohibits azo dyes capable of releasing carcinogenic aromatic amines and heavy metal-based pigments. For a complex warm-neutral tone like Warm Taupe, which typically requires a mix of dye families to achieve the right brown-grey balance, the prohibition on problematic dye classes has direct practical significance.
