A solid Navy bedding set on a 300 thread count, 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton sateen base. Navy is the deepest blue colourway in the Cottsbury Classic range - a rich, dark blue with minimal grey or green undertone that reads as saturated and traditional in most lighting conditions. On a sateen weave, the depth of the navy dye sits with a restrained sheen that gives the fabric more surface interest than the same colour would have in a flat percale weave. It is the boldest solid colour in the blue family within the Classic collection. Closure is concealed coconut shell buttons - no plastic, no metal.

Navy is a deep, saturated blue - the darkest of the blue colourways in the Classic collection. It has minimal grey or green contamination in its undertone, reading as a clean, traditional navy rather than a slate-blue or teal-navy. Under most indoor lighting it appears very dark; in strong natural daylight the blue saturation becomes more pronounced. On sateen, the colour has a slightly shimmering quality that makes it more dynamic than the same shade would look in a matte weave.
The Classic range offers three blue colourways across a wide tonal span. Serene Blue is a quiet, low-saturation blue that reads almost as a soft neutral - the most relaxed of the three. Mid Blue is a medium-saturation tone with a slightly warm, accessible quality. Navy is the boldest, deepest, and most traditional - the natural choice for people who want a statement dark bed without moving into the grey or slate family. Navy works with a wider range of accent colours than the lighter blues and pairs particularly well with white, natural linen, and warm wood tones.
The Navy Classic is an all-navy solid set - every piece (duvet cover, fitted sheet, and pillowcases) is the same deep navy throughout. The White with Navy Twin Band and White with Navy Single Band sets have white as the primary ground with navy appearing only as accent stripes on the duvet cover. The Navy Classic is a more immersive, enveloping choice; the banded sets are more restrained and use navy as a detail rather than a dominant colour.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the leading international certification for organic textiles. It requires the cotton to be grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers and verifies that every processing stage - including dyeing - meets strict chemical and labour standards. For a deep colourway like Navy, achieving full saturation requires a high concentration of dye, making the prohibition on azo dyes (which release carcinogenic aromatic amines) and heavy metal-based pigments particularly meaningful compared to paler shades where lower dye loads are used.
Yes. The 300 thread count sateen weave produces a smooth, low-friction surface, and GOTS certification ensures no harmful chemical residues from processing or dyeing. For people with documented sensitivities to textile dyes specifically, the undyed Natural Classic or White Classic sets carry no dye inputs at all and are the more cautious option.
