Sateen uses a four-over-one-under weave structure that brings more yarn to the fabric surface than percale. The result is a smooth, slightly lustrous finish with a softer, heavier drape. At 300 thread count, this sits between lightweight summer percale and heavier winter flannel, suitable year-round. It improves in softness with every wash.

The cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, and every processing stage meets strict chemical and labour standards. No harmful dyes, heavy metals, or chemical finishes are permitted under GOTS.
A single band has one dark grey stripe woven across the duvet cover, while a twin band has two parallel stripes. The single band is the more minimal of the two, making it a quieter contrast detail that suits bedrooms with a clean, restrained aesthetic. Both use the same woven-in technique, so the band is flush with the fabric surface in both cases.
